Celine Dion Greets Mourners At Husband Rene Angelil’s Public Viewing Memorial – WATCH LIVE STREAM
Celine Dion and hundreds of mourners have gathered at Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal to pay respects to Rene Angelil, the singer’s late husband who sadly died of throat cancer last week. The public memorial and open casket visitation is currently being held in his honor. Watch a live stream below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Angelil passed away at his and Dion’s Las Vegas home last Thursday following a lengthy battle with throat cancer, which he was first diagnosed with in 1998. Angelil’s health seemed to improve in the years following, but the disease returned in late 2014.
The Montreal cathedral where Angelil’s viewing is taking place is the same church where he and Dion were married 21 years ago. The singer, wearing a black veil and a black coat, has been greeting fans as they grieve for Angelil alongside her. On Friday, a private funeral for friends and family will be held at the Notre-Dame Basilica.
As Gossip Cop has also noted, Dion will hold a tribute concert in Angelil’s memory at the Caesars Palace Colosseum in Las Vegas on February 3. The event is being dubbed a “Celebration of Life.” Angelil is survived by his and Dion’s three children, Rene-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twin boys Nelson and Eddy, as well as his three older children from previous marriages.
