Reese Witherspoon NOT In “$135 Million Divorce Shocker,” Despite Report
Reese Witherspoon is NOT in a “$135 million divorce shocker,” despite a new tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the report. We’re told by an impeccable insider that there’s “no truth” to the claim.
The new issue of Star, which hit newsstands Wednesday, alleges Witherspoon is on the “brink of a second divorce” as her four-year marriage to husband Jim Toth “collapses.” “They fight over everything,” a so-called “source” claims to the magazine. “Something as minor as him forgetting to return her call can quickly turn into a screaming argument.”
The story goes on to allege Witherspoon and Toth battle over everything from their “busy schedules” to how he “changed” after his 2013 DUI arrest. “That’s when he became more distant and focused on his career,” alleges the outlet’s tipster. “They’ve been in a downward spiral ever since.”
Indeed, Star has been peddling reports about Witherspoon and Toth’s supposed marriage problems for quite some time. In fact, Gossip Cop debunked a rather similar cover story just over a year ago. That one proclaimed the actress was in a “$110 million divorce shocker” (see below).
This time, the tabloid conveniently gives itself an out, going on and on about how the couple is staying together for the kids, and claiming Witherspoon is “scared” of “dividing their fortune.” Because, you know, it can’t possibly be that she and Toth are still married because they’re HAPPY.
Regardless, Gossip Cop investigated the Star story, and one rock-solid insider close to the couple scoffed at the claims. “This is ridiculous,” we’re told exclusively. “There is no truth to this.” Case closed.
