Rebel Wilson NOT Starring In Adele Biopic, Despite Report
Rebel Wilson is NOT playing Adele in a supposed biopic about the singer’s life, despite a made-up tabloid report. Gossip Cop can debunk this rumor. We’re told it’s “not true,” and “no one ever even discussed it.”
According to the National Enquirer, Hollywood executives are planning to tell the British singer’s life story on the big screen, and Wilson is the current front-runner to nab the role. A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “Rebel has always wanted to prove that she can cut it as a serious actress.”
The magazine’s seemingly phony insider adds, “She thinks this role could be the making of her career and transform her into a major movie star.” The tabloid’s “source” then insultingly adds that Wilson no longer wants to play “wacky fat-girl roles.” But not only has Adele addressed the rumor, noting filmmakers would “need my f***ing permission” and Wilson acknowledging on Twitter that she’s “never been offered” the part, but Gossip Cop also checked in with a source close to the situation who assures us there is absolutely no Adele biopic in the works.
We’re told the tabloid’s claim is simply “not true,” and “no one ever even discussed” and Adele biopic. And it should be noted, famous figures don’t typically get their life story told at the age of 27, especially if they’ve still very much alive.
Gossip Cop is not surprised by this big fat lie. We previously busted the Enquirer for falsely claiming Adele had been offered to pose nude for Playboy. Gossip Cop also corrected the magazine for alleging Wilson was an “out-of-control diva” on the set of the TV show “Super Fun Night.” Like those stories, the tabloid’s latest tale about Wilson starring in an Adele biopic is fabricated.
