Rebecca Black Set to Earn Enormous Money for “Friday”
2:31 pm, March 22nd, 2011
Rebecca Black might soon be staring at bank statements like she stares at calendars.
The “Friday” singer stands to make hundreds of thousands of dollars – possibly even $1 million – from digital downloads of her infectious ode to the weekend.
According to reports, the more than 30 million YouTube views of “Friday” alone could net Black and her Ark Music Factory backers tens of thousands of dollars, as YouTube revenue sharing pays approximately $1 per thousand page views.
But the bigger bucks will come from iTunes, Amazon and other mp3 retailers, where “Friday” continues to perform strongly on the charts and is believed to have been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times.
In the United States, iTunes pays 70 cents per single download.
Black seems to have a pretty good attitude about the “so bad it’s good” enthusiasm for “Friday” that’s shot her to fame.
Earning huge money on the single should only keep her smiling.
