Rebecca Black Interview on “Good Morning America” [VIDEO]

(ABC)

Anonymous teen turned national treasure Rebecca Black emerged from hiding long enough to give “Good Morning America” her first on-camera interview since becoming a viral sensation with “Friday.”

Andrea Canning (who also interviewed media sensation Charlie Sheen) had the cringeworthy task of reading to Black some of the nasty Internet commentary about her talents.

“It doesn’t bother me,” says the remarkably composed singer, who’s still smiling despite the avalanche of hateful feedback.

As for her ability, Black observes, ”I don’t think I’m the worst singer, but I don’t think I’m the best singer.”

She also has a full-blown case of Bieber Fever.

“I am in love with Justin Bieber,” declares Black, who seems overwhelmed when thinking about a hypothetical duet with him.

I do think the death threats are a little much. But she has to know that the song is terrible.

she did say she knows she’s not the best singer

She does have talent. Her main problem, as far as I can hear, is that she tends to be very nasal on certain vowels. A few vocal lessons ought to take care of that, though. As far as the song goes, seriously…she’s what, 13-14? I would honestly expect nothing more from someone so young. Give her a few years; I bet she’ll improve with time.

I really don’t believe it when she says it doesn’t bother her. See, the thing is, she’s a teenage girl. Teenage girls, especially her age, are extremely sensitive, which is why school alone at this age is the worst years of people’s life. So when she says she doesn’t care and is doesn’t bother her, I have a very hard time believing it.
After hearing her sing those two lines from the National anthem, I’ve changed my views a little. I think the song she sang didn’t really show what she could do, and instead had a negative effect on her voice. I still don’t like the song, but she can obviously sing, and should have her chance in the music world.
She just needs to find someone else to write her songs.
