    Can I ask one thing?!
Which days are calculated revenue from movies?
    For the whole weekend right??
That means for the whole Friday, Saturday and Sunday, right?
Then, how you even know, that which movie has won much money, as Sunday has not passed? Can anyone explain this?

Great, my plan is to see this movie today!

  • fakerbuster

my understanding is that what they do is they multiply the friday earnings with the number of theaters the movie is releasing in and that makes up the number for the whole weekend

  • Beep

Every weekend they overestimate moneyball the official number for this weekend won’t be more than 6 million. I thought it would at least sail to 60 million but it’s more likely to struggle to 60

It’s all estimated by the various studios and sites like Box Office Mojo, based on what happens on Friday and what grade people give the movie when asked by CinemaScore. It is only on Monday morning when the “actuals” come in and we get the true weekend take per movie.

Is it true that Real Steel had a huge budget and promotional costs, which is why they could use better numbers for the opening weekend?
