BRAVO Confirms: Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon & Cindy Barshop Are Gone

As Gossip Cop reported a few days ago, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, Alex McCord and Cindy Barshop were likely to be axed before the new season of “The Real Housewives of New York,” and now Bravo has made it official — without even mentioning them by name.

Instead, the cable network said who would be returning and simply referred to the fired four as “the ladies,” adding cryptically that they may have future dealings with them.

Here is Bravo’s official statement to Gossip Cop: “Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn De Lesseps will be returning for season five of The Real Housewives of New York City. We’ve had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have on-going discussions with them.”

    Iam a little shocked with Jill being axed, Cindy and Alex was really boring and had nothing to add to the show. Kelly well she was good only when Beathany and her were going at it, that made good tv. I hope who ever the newbies are that make the show good with the remaining three cast memebers left standing

    Alex and Simon had to go. Her unwillingness to separate herself from his control made her image indigestable to the average youthful viewer. Jill got herself into a mess with Bethanny and never recovered .Kelly just mouths her analyst’s statements in a parrotlike fashion. This is a savy move.

    I understand reasons why, and I am glad Jill is axed but I am still nosey enough to want to know where their lives go from here. Do I sound awful?

    Sonja are we going to watch her get evicted from her house? Because bankruptcy and lawsuits are so much fun to watch I got nothing for the 3 left, hope Andy Cohen has some fun gals lined up as replacements.
    I’m thinking that maybe the phenom of Real Housewives is waning, like it has “jumped the shark “

    I find I’m more interested in process than product when I’ve watched this show. For example, how are the women selected; did they know each other before the show starts; Do the producers encourage conflict & confrontation to ramp up the drama? To name just a few questions. I lived in dorms & shared an apt w/ 5 other girls for 2 yrs in college & never had the kind of catfights that are weekly fare on this show. I’m sure we had occasional disagreement,but we didn’t behave like undisciplined, prepubescent brats. I just have to wonder how real this “reality” is.

    I think with this move….the show is doomed. Losing Betheny….well we can still see her. But I am happiest when LuAnn is NOT in a show….cannot stand that Sonya….nothing personal…just can’t get taken up by her…I am not sorry to see Kelly go….I really think she needs some help….and I didn’t get invested enough in Cindy to mind…..Alex…..liked her ….but did find her toooooo much this season….very true she found her voice…but now did not know when to stop speaking…and yes less Simon please. I don’t think I will be watching anymore….unless I can’t sleep and it is all that is on….my ratings don’t matter anyway since I am a Canadian.

    please…I am so tired of ppl cutting on the husbands of these shows. It is HOUSEWIVES…last I checked a housewife is married…not all these other full of themselves divorcee’s!

    Jill was a great base for the show, Always good from the begining. I liked the way Alex evolved, and simon was odd but interesting. Cindy brought nothing to the show and Kelly was either “in or out” Wow i hope Bravo knows what they are doing. may go the way of DC wives or the really boring Miami

    Well said Margaret! I agree with everything you wrote. Hasn’t been the same without Bethenny. I used to like Jill, but she really turned everyone off last year with her bitchiness, and ruined ever returning to audience favor. Kelly is completely crazy! So is Sonja! Liked Alex but agree that she needs to do the show without Simon. Don’t know Cindy and don’t care to, and Ramona and Mario were okay. Cannot stand LuAnn and will likely not watch this show again with the cast changes. Now it will be really boring! However as I am also Canadian, my ratings don’t matter either!

    I agree with a lot of what is being said. LuAnn really gets on my nerves. I really and truly think she is a man. At the beginning I thought she was going to be my favorite, but whoever gave her the pedestal needs to take it back quick. She is too wierd. Sonja, yikes. She is a tramp. I believe that Mario (yikes) and her have been having an affair for years. Ramona is so glad to have a friend, she can’t see it. I see Ramona’s bubble finally popping. I have always been told that New Yorkers were a breed all to themselves. Hello, it’s true. Pschychotic people for sure. Kelly, Ramona and Sonja are three of the craziest people I have ever seen. Nuts, nuts, nuts. I sit with my jaw to the floor most every time they are in a segment. I had rather never have another friend in the world as have any one of these as my friends. Jill should have been gone. She is a has been major trouble maker. I agree that drama is what I watch it for but their major mental instability is way more disturbing than entertaining anymore.

    I agree with Miami. I watched it one time and decided it was too Mexican for me. I know that is not what they really are but that is what we consider them as. Strange group of cocky women. Not at all interested. Bring back Washington. At least these women were exciting. On to Orange County. I have always hoped that horse face, Vickey, would get what is coming to her and she is. My husband went to school with her new beau. He is a loser and psycho too. He was a nerd that was the butt of many years of jokes and it has all cropped back up. Take everybody that she has judged and put them all together and it is him in a hairy package. He is only in it to try and make up for a lifetime of being made fun of. She better watch her money. He is serious trouble and she deserves it.
