Ray J is slamming claims that he may have been responsible for the death of Whitney Houston.

According to the Los Angeles County Coroner’s report, Houston died from an “accidental drowning,” and had cocaine and other drugs in her system.

During a Thursday interview on HLN‘s “Dr. Drew,” Houston’s former sister-in-law Leolah Brown took things a bit further, accusing Ray J of being the late singer’s “runnerboy” and plying her with drugs.

In actuality, however, Ray J wasn’t anywhere near Houston when she died — and neither was Brown.

“Even though Leolah Brown was nowhere near the Beverly Hilton Hotel on the day Whitney Houston died, Ms. Brown falsely claimed that Ray J was at the hotel and contributed to Whitney Houston’s death,” a rep for Ray J said in a statement.

The rep also noted, “Leolah Brown had been out of contact with Whitney for more than a year.”

Lawyers for Ray J call Brown’s version of events “defamatory” and tell Gossip Cop her HLN interview “was rife with false statements,” reiterating that she had long been out of Houston’s life when the singer died last month.

Dr. Drew is a hack and to have someone on his show saying this is beyond unethical. This man should be barred from talking about people’s health (when he does not know them or has ever treated them) when he has no knowledge whatsoever.

The Houston family need to look inward and stop blaming every other person……..where were they during her troubled times……first Bobby now RJ……..someone once sang a song with these lyrics……..I’m starting with the man in the mirror…………

As crazy as Bobby Brown’s family may be, I think his sister is on to something. Why else is Gay J having such a hard time getting over Whitney’s death. You don’t see Whitney’s mom or daughter needing to go to grief counseling. He’s just friend right? He’s feeling bad about something

I wouldn’t be surprised. I don’t want to insinuate anything, but maybe her daughter knew Whitney was taking drugs.

Why don’t people let her rest in peace, that is what helped to bring out her demons, everyone in her life saying hurtful things about her. Now everyone still wants a piece of her $ as they always did. I hope her daughter is wise as her mom was when she was in her right mind & talk to a lawyer to protect her $ interest, bull —- she is broke she will make more in death then alive, she was the greatest voice ever & even though record produce made millions off her as well as the Brown’s taking her $. Hope the rest & future goes to her daughter. Rest in peace Whitney, cause it all comes down to you know “Jesus always loved you”
