Raven-Symone: Lindsey Graham Courting Caitlyn Jenner’s Vote Is “Publicity Stunt” (VIDEO)
Raven-Symone says she thinks Republican presidential hopeful Lindsey Graham’s recent comments courting Caitlyn Jenner’s vote is all a “publicity stunt.” On Monday’s “The View,” Raven-Symone said she was shocked to hear Graham urge Jenner to vote for him because he “supports traditional marriage, not non-traditional [or] whatever you categorize that is.” She added, “I’m very surprised. I think it’s a publicity stunt personally.” When her co-host Rosie Perez expressed her shock over Raven-Symone’s comment, the former “Cosby” actress actress explained, “Well, Caitlyn Jenner is the hot topic right now.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Graham urged Jenner to vote for him during an interview on Sunday’s CNN, saying, “If Caitlyn Jenner wants to be safe and have a prosperous economy, vote for me.” Graham went on to say that even though he hasn’t “walked in her shoes,” he can imagine “the torment Bruce Jenner went through.” “I hope she has found peace,” Graham noted, acknowledging that he’s “a pro-life, traditional kind of guy.” But he pointed out, “I’m running for President of the United States. If Caitlyn Jenner wants to be a Republican, she is welcome in my party.”
Jenner identified herself as a conservative Republican during her “20/20” interview special with Diane Sawyer, hinting that she was interested in lobbying the Republican party about transgender issues. Check out the video below from “The View,” and tell us what you think.
