Raven Symone came to Khloe Kardashian’s defense on Thursday’s “The View,” following the reality star getting bashed on social media for appearing on the cover of People just weeks after her husband Lamar Odom’s drug overdose. Watch the video below.

However, as Kardashian explained in a series of tweets, the magazine’s release was simply unfortunate timing, all tied to her new book Strong Looks Better Naked. She wrote, “I want to make this VERY clear…. My people cover, I shot and interviewed for PRIOR to all the events that happened.” She further explained, “It was contracted press for my book that I wrote months and months ago. Timing is what it is.” Kardashian also insisted that haters “know the facts before you throw stones.”

While discussing the controversy during the “Hot Topics” segment of “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg asked, “Do you think people just assume because she’s a Kardashian that she’s going for publicity?” Symone then read out loud Kardashian’s tweets, which clarified the situation, and added, “People are prejudging someone not knowing all of the facts.”

Symone further defended the reality star by saying, “She’s doing the right thing. She’s not putting [Odom] through a divorce at this time. She knows and everyone knows they’re not going to get back together. She said this.” About Odom and the Kardashian family as a whole, Symone expressed, “You need to send them love and not hate.” Watch the segment below, and tell Gossip Cop what you think.
