Rachel Roy To Beyonce Fans: I Respect Marriages, Stop Bullying Me
Rachel Roy responded to Beyonce’s fans, who attacked her on her Instagram page on Sunday. The fashion designer directed her remarks on Twitter to the singer’s Beyhive, writing that she respects “marriages,” but won’t tolerate “bullying.” As Gossip Cop reported earlier, Roy seemingly trolled Beyonce on Instagram after the singer released her new album Lemonade, which itself alludes to her husband Jay Z having allegedly cheated on her.
As Gossip Cop noted, in one of Beyonce’s new singles, “Sorry,” she sings about a man who’s unfaithful to her with a woman referred to as “Becky with the good hair.” After “Sorry” came out, Roy posted on her Instagram, “Good hair don’t care, but we will take good lighting, for selfies, or self truths, always. live in the light #nodramaqueens” (below). That caused Beyonce’s Beyhive to repeatedly slam Roy, whose close connection to Jay Z is what was rumored to have started the fight in which Solange Knowles pummeled the music mogul in an elevator at the 2014 Met Gala.
After receiving tons of negative comments, including one from a Twitter user named @GugsM, who expressed, “Rachel Roy won’t exist by the end of the day,” the fashion designer decided to made her Instagram page private. Later, she fought back on Twitter, writing, “I respect love, marriages, families and strength. What shouldn’t be tolerated by anyone, no matter what, is bullying, of any kind.” Roy, however, made no mention of her initial “Good hair don’t care” Instagram post that set off the firestorm.
