Rachel Platten “Today” Show Concert Video – Watch Performance!
Rachel Platten was the star of the Citi Concert Series on Friday’s “Today” show. Check out the videos below!
To close out the week, Platten was the latest music act to hold an outdoor concert at Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, where the NBC morning show’s studios are located. With hundreds of fans in attendance, the singer performed “Stand By You,” “Better Place,” and, of course, “Fight Song.” All the songs are off the 2015 album Wildfire.
“Wildfire” would be a great way to describe Platten’s career growth over the last year. “Fight Song” became a breakout hit, and the songstress even performed it with Taylor Swift on the “1989 World Tour.” And while Platten has many fans, Swift was one of her early champions.
More recently, though it came out as a single more than a year ago, “Fight Song” led to one of the most memorable “America’s Got Talent” auditions this season. As Gossip Cop reported, 16-year-old cancer survivor Calysta Bevier sang the song on last week’s episode, leading Simon Cowell to send her straight to the live shows. Bevier previously had the opportunity to team up with Platten for a special duet on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
Platten’s career is continuing to blossom, and she planned to thank fans in person with a meet-and-greet following the “Today” concert. Supporters who scored wristbands on a first come, first serve basis would get to have photos taken with the singer. She tweeted on Thursday, “I am loving all of these RSVPs for tomorrow coming in!! I can’t wait to see you after my @TODAYshow performance!”
Next week, it’ll be Shawn Mendes’ turn in the spotlight, and Gossip Cop will continue to have full coverage. Watch the Platten videos below!
