Queen Of The Desert FIRST TRAILER: Robert Pattinson Is Nicole Kidman’s Lawrence Of Arabia — WATCH HERE!
The movie, directed by Werner Herzog, is based on the life of Gertrude Bell, a British writer who traveled the world on an endless quest of exploration. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, Pattinson’s casting as Lawrence of Arabia was first announced back in 2012, when Naomi Watts was attached to the main role. Kidman’s Bell, now considered an influential archaeologist and cartographer whose diplomatic work changed the Middle East, met Pattinson’s Lawrence back when he was a British army officer known as T. E. Lawrence.
The preview showcases how Bell’s “courage,” “passion,” and “strength” earned her the nickname “Queen of the Desert” in the early 1900s. The film also features other real-life characters, including Henry Cadogan and Charles Doughty-Wylie. They are played by James Franco and Damien Lewis respectively. Production took place in late 2013 and into early 2014. As Gossip Cop reported, the movie had its world premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival earlier this year.
Queen of the Desert is slated to open in theaters on September 15. Check out the first trailer below, and tell us what you think.
