Pukkelpop Festival Canceled After 5 Die and 140 Are Injured [VIDEO]

The three-day Pukkelpop music festival in Belgium has now been canceled after a storm hit yesterday, causing a stage and equipment to collapse.

The band Smith Westerns was set to perform when strong winds and rain knocked down trees and several structures.

Five concertgoers died, and more than 140 were injured as a result.

Foo Fighters, Eminem, Panic At The Disco, Fleet Foxes, Good Charlotte and Mark Ronson were among the other acts scheduled to play Pukkelpop, which is held in the town of Hasselt, Belgium, 50 miles east of Brussels.

There were approximately 60,000 music fans in attendance at the annual festival.

Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden tweeted yesterday, “Sad day here at Pukkelpop… Hearts are with the victims here.”

And Jared Leto of 30 Seconds To Mars, also slated to perform, tweeted warnings to fans and updates on the horrific conditions, urging all to “please be safe.”

Just last weekend, five concertgoers died when the stage collapsed before a Sugarland show at the Indiana State Fair.
