Prince William, Kate Middleton “Marriage In Trouble” Report False
Wednesday’s new issue of In Touch declares, “Plagued by personal and royal tensions, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 5-year union hits a rough patch.” The accompanying story states, “Five years after tying the knot at Westminster Abbey as millions of people tuned in across the globe, William and Kate’s marriage is in trouble and they’re heading towards couples therapy.”
“They’re dealing with all the usual problems married couples face, but they also have the extra pressure of being in the public eye,” a so-called “royals insider” is quoted as saying. “Their issues are on an even bigger scale, and they’re constantly arguing at the moment about the pressure Kate is under, William’s attitude about it and how to raise their kids. They’re going through a very rocky patch.”
Actually, it’s only In Touch’s reporting that’s “rocky.” Notice that the magazine doesn’t go as far as claiming the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on the verge of divorce, like it does for so many other couples. The outlet knows it couldn’t get away with such a story about the royals, so it concocted this tale about “couples therapy,” which is a ready-made explanation for when Kate and William’s marriage continues as happy as ever.
Furthermore, it’s worth noting this is the same tabloid that falsely claimed in 2011 that Middleton “can’t get pregnant.” And it’s the sister publication to Life & Style, which wrongly alleged last month she was now pregnant with twins. Tellingly, neither is mentioned in this new cover story.
What’s more, though, is that Gossip Cop’s own royal sources have been accurate again and again over the years. And we’re now exclusively told that this “marriage trouble” report is “not true.”
