Prince Harry, Meghan Markle NOT Engaged Yet, Despite Report
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are not yet engaged, despite a tabloid report. Gossip Cop can correct the story.
The allegation can be found in the pages of this week’s Life & Style, where a headline exclaims, “Finally! Prince Harry’s Engaged.” It’s said, “Secretly dating Prince Harry for six months, actress Meghan Markle wins his heart and a ring!” The story specifically claims “the pair are engaged,” and “the royal has given the ‘Suits’ star a ring.”
“But she won’t wear it in public yet because they are trying to keep a lid on everything,” a so-called “source” tells the magazine, giving a suspiciously convenient explanation. “They are head over heels in love and looking forward to spending the rest of their live together.”
And “once the engagement is announced, wedding bells won’t be far behind,” claims the publication. Alleges the supposed snitch, “Now that the romance is out, they want to marry as soon as possible, even next spring!” Of course, saying the couple wants to wed “as soon as possible” since “the romance is out” conflicts with the previous comment that they’re “trying to keep a lid on everything.”
Still, the alleged tipster says of Markle, “She can’t wait to make it official with Harry.” That may be true and the two may indeed end up marrying, but it’s simply untrue that an engagement has already happened. And if and when Prince Harry and Markle do get engaged, it won’t be first revealed by the same U.S. tabloid that has run multiple false Kate Middleton pregnancy stories this year alone.
