Prince George Meets George the Bilby, Australia’s Easter Bunny Named After Him
Prince George met George on Sunday, a bilby named after the future king.
The 9-month-old spent part of Easter at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo with parents Kate Middleton and Prince William, where they got up close with the marsupial, which is Australia’s version of the Easter bunny.
The visit served as the official opening of the Prince George Bilby Exhibit, with the Duke and Duchess unveiling a plaque that reads, “A national gift from the Commonwealth Government to commemorate the birth of His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge.”
And Prince George didn’t leave empty-handed — he was also gifted a stuffed bilby to take home.
