Prince Suffered Drug Overdose Days Before Death
Prince reportedly suffered a drug overdose days before his death, with his life being saved thanks to emergency medical treatment.
As Gossip Cop reported, Prince was found dead at his Minnesota estate on Thursday. His rep said in a statement this afternoon that there was no information on his cause of death at this point in time. An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.
But now TMZ is alleging Prince overdosed on drugs six days ago. As Gossip Cop reported last week, the superstar’s private jet made an emergency landing in Illinois during a flight from Georgia early Friday morning. He had been flying back to Minnesota when he apparently suffered a medical crisis.
His rep confirmed later that day that Prince had been briefly hospitalized, and blamed the situation on a persistent case of the flu. That was also the explanation given when the singer canceled concerts earlier this month. TMZ, however, now claims that Prince was actually rushed to the hospital due to an apparent overdose, which required an antidote injection typically used in cases of opiate abuse.
Officials investigating Prince’s death are reportedly trying to get those hospital records. Gossip Cop reached out to the music icon’s rep for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
