Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla “Absolutely Delighted” About Royal Baby Girl
Prince Charles said he was hoping for a granddaughter, and he got one! As Gossip Cop reported, Kate Middleton and Prince William welcomed a baby girl early Saturday morning. “The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall are ‘absolutely delighted’ at the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s daughter,” said Clarence House in a statement.
Kensington Palace said via Twitter both Middleton and the baby are in good health. While the (second) royal baby’s name has not yet been released, Kensington Palace said she weighted 8lbs and 3oz. Her older brother, Prince George, weighed 8lbs and 6oz when he was born in July 2013.
Middleton went into labor during the early hours of Saturday morning, and gave birth around 8:30 a.m. local time. She’s currently still at St. Mary’s Hospital, the same facility where she gave birth to Prince George. Following the announcement of the baby’s arrival, Buckingham Palace placed a framed notice of the birth on a ceremonial easel near the front gate.
The royal baby girl is the second grandchild for Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, as well as for Middleton’s parent’s, Carole and Michael. She’s also fourth in line for the British throne after Prince George, Prince William and Prince Charles.
