Watch Second Presidential Debate Between Donald Trump And Hillary Clinton
The debate, which was a town hall and featured half of its questions posed by audience members, was held at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. The moderators were CNN’s Anderson Cooper and ABC News’ Martha Radiate, and the two candidates went after each other. Trump and Clinton previously sparred during the first debate two weeks ago in Hempstead, New York. As Gossip Cop noted at the time, much was made about Trump often interrupting Clinton, his microphone picking up his sniffling (which happened again), and which candidate had the better temperament.
Against the backdrop of the second debate was the video that was leaked two days ago of Trump making crude remarks about women to Billy Bush in 2005 aboard an “Access Hollywood” bus. As noted by Gossip Cop, Trump was heard on his mic saying he tried but failed to have sex with former “Access Hollywood” co-host Nancy O’Dell, that women let stars “do anything,” and that he would “grab them by the p*ssy.” Following tremendous uproar, which included promiment Republicans withdrawing their support for Trump, the GOP presidential candidate taped an apology statement in which he noted, “I’ve never said I’m a perfect person, nor pretended to be… I’ve said and done things I regret.” He continued, “These words don’t reflect who I am. I said it. I was wrong, and I apologize.”
That said, Trump seemingly telegraphed his direction for the second presidential debate, having added in his taped remarks that his vulgar comments to Bush was “nothing more than a distraction from the important issues we’re facing today,” which he said included “Hillary Clinton and her kind [running] our country into the ground.” The GOP presidential nominee went on to say, “I’ve said some foolish things, but there’s a big difference between the words and actions of other people. Bill Clinton has actually abused women, and Hillary has bullied, attacked, shamed and intimidated his victims… See you at the debate on Sunday.” And during the second debate, Trump brought up Bill Clinton’s accusers.
With a little more than four weeks until Election Day, both presidential nominees came out swinging. Check out the video below of the second presidential debate between Trump and Clinton
