President Obama’s Farewell Address Live Stream: Watch Final Speech Online
President Barack Obama will deliver his Farewell Address to the American people on Tuesday night in Chicago, and Gossip Cop has a live stream of the event online. Watch the president’s final speech below.
Obama will make his historic speech from the Lakeside Center at McCormick Place in Chicago, the same city where he declared victory in 2008 and 2012. The president took to Facebook earlier on Tuesday to explain why the Illinois location holds a special place in his heart. “For Michelle and me, Chicago is where it all started. It’s the city that showed us the power and fundamental goodness of the American people,” wrote Obama. “It’s that inherent strength that brought our country through our fair share of challenges these last eight years.”
“So tonight, I’m returning to where it all began to offer my most grateful farewell to the American people,” the president continued. “I hope you’ll join me — I want to thank you for everything you’ve done.” According to White House officials, Obama’s speech won’t focus on policy, but will instead offer Americans hope for the future. The president’s last day in office will be January 20, at which time President-elect Donald Trump will be sworn in. The live stream of President Obama’s Farewell Address to the United States will begin at 9 p.m. Eastern. Watch it below.
