President Obama said on Saturday, “I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan.”

The remark comes on the heels of Eastwood’s 12-minute improvised speech at the Republican National Convention during which he “interviewed” an empty chair that was supposed to signify an “invisible” and absentee president.

While en route to Iowa for campaign rallies, Obama told USA TODAY that he thinks Eastwood “is a great actor, and an even better director,” adding, ”I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.”

The president, however, did not want to discuss Eastwood’s empty chair bit before Mitt Romney’s speech.

He only offered, “One thing about being president or running for president — if you’re easily offended, you should probably choose another profession.”

Damage control, picking up a 82 years old national hero wasn’t looking good for Obama and his people. I don’t like bullies so I will not vote for him anymore like I wanted to do.

  • Chloe

Oh please you weren’t going to vote for him anyway. Obama wasn’t picking on Clint everyone else including me that it made Clint the actor look pretty lame including those in the right we are all fans of Clint. But his rambling made him look bad.

  • quietobserver

Why is Clint Eastwood a national hero. He is just an actor and a director practicing his right to freedom of speech. I may not agree with his political views but I do believe he has the right to express them. I think the president handle the question well.

  • Luke66

Clint really should stick with his day job.

  • Claire

Is Obama a disappointment? Yes….Is Clint Eastwood behaving badly? Yes.

  • patty

President Obama handled Clints bad behavior well. Especially since Clint was once a big supporter of President Obama!

I’m more disappointment with the crazy right wing saying no to everything Obama tried to pass to make our economy better, and then they offered no solutions only complain and make up lies (that some people believed). Now they want us to give them the chance to put them in office again, so that they can repeat the same polices that destroyed our economy to being with. They want to revote on old laws long passed, so they can set us back 50 years. No thank you…I’m sticking with the President until they get rid of the tea baggers and their radical when of thinking, I will never vote for a Republican again until they clean house. I’m tired of their lies. The Democrats need to grow a damn back bone already and help out damnit.

Clint E is not behaving badly. Now Joe Biden, there’s an man that needs a muzzle.

So should the President. Then may be he would accomplish something, useless opportunist.

How has Obama picked on Eastwood?(wait I will give you a second to come up with some lame excuse) because truth is if this is what changed your mind you weren’t going to vote for him in the first place.Eastwood put himself in the line of fire and if you don’t want to blame the man himself be mad at someone be mad at Romney and his people for putting Eastwood in the position.I think you need to look up the definition of a bully because you seem very confused.Obama refusing to criticize Eastwood makes him the opposite of what a bully is.This is just another thing people will blame on Obama he is damned if does he is damned if he doesn’t. I think the bigger picture here is the way Romney keeps calling out Obama but has failed to reply to the demands that were made on Obama when he first ran.People wanted Obama’s birth certificate and he complied, the people want Romney’s tax returns something he has still not produced.I could care less if people don’t vote for Obama just be real about the reason.
