Pink Blasts Paparazzi Stalking Her Baby

In a message posted to her official site, Pink blasts the paparazzi who have been making life difficult for the brand new mom.

After telling fans how “absolutely blissed out in love” she and hubby Carey Hart are with their first baby, Willow Sage, the pop star turns her attention to the photographers who won’t leave them alone and offers a solution.

“Due to the unsettling, surprisingly aggressive and unsafe measures that the paparazzi seem to be willing to go to in order to secure that ‘first shot’ of our daughter – stalking us, chasing us in cars and sitting outside of our home all day and all night, [we] decided that we would release personal photos of our Willow, and donate all of the money to charity,” she writes.

We think that’s a great way to handle an ugly situation.

Pink goes on to make some points slamming the “media climate” that threatens her newborn’s safety and privacy.

“It’s one thing to harass and stalk us, the adults, the celebrity that signed up for this life,” says the singer. “But children should be protected and safe. There should be a clear distinction between us.”

She asks why the United States is “the only country that continues to financially incentivize intrusive paparazzi behavior to capitalize on photos of babies, infants and children,” whose faces are blurred out in magazine photos overseas.

“Why is this acceptable to any of us? Why is this even legal?” wonders Pink, who points out that grown men who sit outside preschools and snap shots of non-celebrity children would face serious consequences.

Pink repeatedly acknowledges how grateful she is for the opportunities her celebrity (and Hart’s) have given them, and says she’s eager to share their “joys” (including family life) with fans. But as parents, she argues, they “should be able to govern these decisions.”

“In the face of camera lenses as long as my arm and flashbulbs as bright as the sun, Willow is powerless,” reflects Pink. “All she has to protect her is us.”

Gossip Cop completely agrees with Pink’s outrage and frustration. Paparazzi have no business stalking little kids just because their parents happen to be famous, and we hope Willow and other children are granted the privacy everyone deserves.

Way to go, Pink!! She is so right, and it’s time someone takes a stand. The children of celebrities should be off limits. Stalking them, shoving cameras in their faces, bright flashbulbs going off in their faces, is frightening to children and should not be allowed. Give Pink and Carey time to release photos when THEY are ready. Show some class, Paps…

Don’t forget how vicious, rude and ugly most of them are, and with a camera in their hands is enough to frighten any young kid. I don’t understand why there isn’t any of the parents comforting legislature in trying to get a law passed to prevent this from happening… not to mention that they probably wouldn’t obey any law anyway and there is no one out there trying to enforce them. It has been said to me once that they have other more important things to do. I think the situation is terrible!

Should read: It has been said to me that the law has more important cases to worry about. I think the situation with the paparazzo is terrible. It’s a shame what they get away with.

YAAAY PINK! I knew there was a reason I like you. If enough celebrities take a stand like this maybe some rules will be established and followed. You guys all have enough money to hire attorneys. Do it and get laws passed to protect your children. With the amount of taxes you all pay, someone should listen to you. Form a parents group.

This is simple stated, the best point that anyone has made in a long long time! It would actually be considered straight up pedophilia if the children weren’t the children of celebrities!

I admire P!nk and Corey Hart for their amazing move here. I am so glad that charities can benefit from these photographs and I for one will be buying the photos that P!nk and Corey release of their child that way I can slap the paparazzi in the face while supporting charity.

Love to P!nk Corey and of course baby Willow. Hopefully more celebrities will follow in your footsteps and this horrific intrusion can be stopped. It is sick that children are being endangered for a few bucks. You guys rocks for putting a stop to it one photo at a time.

I notice that they did the same thing with the baby bump during her pregnancy and it did decrease paparazzi stalking of said baby bump. These guys have the right idea and everyone should listen to them!

I agree it is TERRIBLE and needs to be fixed!! I doubt however that they would follow the laws, hopefully it would stop at least some of them though. And some parents/celebs have tried to no avail to get laws passed. It should be illegal.

good for her to put this problem in the spotlight..
unfortunately even if she made public the picture of her baby i don’t think this will stop the paparazzi

Pink is right…we can help by STOP buying the mags that sell the pictures…

Unfortunately, it isn’t just the magazines.Shows like ET,EXTRA,etc. also pay big money for pictures. I remember Alana Hamilton talking about how much ET paid for an unauthorized picture of Farrah just before she died. Until we all take a stand, this horrible assault by greedy media will continue. It is totally up to the celebrities to start this action. If they don’t care enough to do that then they should stop complaining and just do like Tom & Katy and just carry their children to keep them safe.

Hopefully one day someone will the find the legal loophole that since this ISN’T news, this can be made deemed illegal!
