Pink Saves Puppy, Slams TMZ

Truth rating: 10

On Friday, TMZ praised Pink for an incredible act of charity, but she wasn’t exactly filled with Christmas love for the site itself.

Here’s what happened.

After the singer saw a horrifying story about a puppy that had been thrown from an overpass in Los Angeles and left for dead, Pink contacted the Ace of Hearts animal rescue group and offered to pay the $5,000 needed for emergency, life-saving treatment.

Now the adorable Stella is on the mend, thanks to Pink’s act of kindness.

TMZ published a couple of posts about the story, and all was fine until the site’s chief, Harvey Levin, tweeted a question.

“I think @pink did great by saving dog,” wrote Levin. “But there’s a debate. Spend 5k on 1 dog that’s really sick or use $$$ to rescue 10 dogs w/ food, etc.”

Pink, who hates the paparazzi almost as much as she loves animals, had a quick reply.

She wrote, “@HarveyLevinTMZ I do both actually. at least I don’t spend my money employing criminals to go+harass people. Maybe you should save something?”

Ouch.

Let’s just say Levin probably shouldn’t expect Pink to foot the bill if he ever needs surgery.

Good for Pink. TMZ are vile.

Pink was right to reply to HarveyLevin like that he and his crew are as bright as the common housefly. most stars actually hate the paparrazzi but know they have to deal with them because it’s part of the bargin of being in the public eye. but there are certain times taking pictures should be off limits as in leaving the hospital with newborn babies or after a loved one especially a child dies. like when they chased after a heartbroken Vanessa Redgrave after Natasha Richardson had passed away she handled it like a trouper but shouldn’t have had too she had just gone through a parents worst nightmare losing one of their children and watching two of her grandchildren lose their mother

Yep and it is another case of can dish it but cant take it. They ran with the false story about the Kardashians shoes or what ever it was. Several people called them on it and TMZ quickly deleted the comments. I compared them to Perez Hilton and my comment didn’t last 5 minutes.

But then Ive had that happen here to.

Why They Gotta Be Criminals? Besides lol If someone paid me to stick a camera in your face i would… Being Followed Around & Harassed By Paparazzi comes with the Job your reward with Millions for it if you wanted your privacy maybe you should’ve stayed middle class & lower like the rest of us… If you didn’t have to be followed be Camera’s everywhere and your privacy taking i would’ve probably tried to take up a career in the industry

TMZ should have just ran the story and been done with it. There’s no reason to get Ito this kind of debate, especially not about Pink. She’s known for being kind and generous to/for animals.

Because many of the photographers are criminals. Many agencies hire ex cons. That’s why so many of them are aggressive. And why should a celeb have to deal with that?

So you can pick up a trash magazine?

I hate when famous people talk about the paparrazzi.

My respect for her just shot up at least 100,000,000 points!

  • Xenobyte

My respect for her can’t sink any lower. Sure, saving cute cuddly dogs is cute, kind and so on, but apparently nobody realizes that she’s doing it for publicity, just like all the crap she’s doing for PETA, a bunch you rightly can call criminals. The paps on the other hand… Doubt that TMZ is different than other paps, and they all just do their job. The great majority don’t trespass or similar, but simply do their work on public ground, and sure it’s a hassle but that’s the price of fame. If you’re happily pocketing huge fees for your work because you’re famous, you’re accepting the media interest in yourself and the first step is the paps because they need pics to write their stories, and their stories are what makes up your fame. So shut up and put up, baby. You asked for it (seeking fame) and now you’re getting it. Enjoy.

Celebrities ask for the fame sure, it’s part of their job. When the paps start harassing their children and the rest of their family, that’s going overboard. This country has become too obsessed with the lives of celebrities. Their children shouldn’t have to deal with that. There’s a time and place for everything and I agree with a comment above, celebrities coming out of the hospital with newborn children or right after a death in their family should be off limits. Paps certainly can be criminals in how far they’ll go for a picture.

What about the people who aren’t famous who have to deal with their aggressive ways. I have twice in LA been rear-ended by a pap trying to get a picture of a famous person in the car in front of me, and a friend of mine in a shopping center had to grab her four year old and jump and roll with her to avoid getting hit by a pap chasing a celeb in the parking lot. The celeb wasn’t speeding but the pap decided he was going to race up the next aisle to cut her off. He them blocked her car from leaving the parking lot jumped out and started flashing away. Neither him nor his cronies checked on my friend or her child and both ended up in the hospital. The celeb on the other hand heard about what happened and sent flowers and apology for them having to go through all of that because of her.
Pink was not the one who announced that she paid for the dog the shelter was, and I don’t care about celebs motivations fr charity as long as it get attention to the charity.

His logic doesn’t make sense to me as Pink should spend/donate her money as she wishes. I’d like to ask him why doesn’t he buy a Prius as his only car and drive it for ten years and use the money he saves not buying an expensive car(s), and donate that money to a charity. Similarly, instead of going on an expensive vacation, do a staycation (like I have to) and donate the money you save to Make-A-Wish. Why doesn’t Levin ask ABC Extreme Home Makeover why they don’t make several homes for the homeless considering the time and expense of making one huge home for one family who will likely struggle with paying the property taxes and utilities and upkeep.

SERIOUSLY?!?!?! So basically, celebrities aren’t allowed to care about other beings without them just doing it for publicity reasons? Bullshit! Asked for it? Pahleeeease!

As a dog rescuer EVERY LIFE is important!

Pink’s decision to reach out to this puppy was AMAZING! That puppy needed an angel and she came to her rescue! Harvey had no business making that stupid comment! An animal lover is an animal lover regardless of social status! Embrace her kindness and be happy for the puppy who’s life was saved because someone cared!
