Pillow Talk Reaction Zayn Malik

Zayn Malik officially kicked off his solo career with the release of “Pillow Talk” at midnight on Friday, and now fans are reacting to the singer’s first single without One Direction.

Prior to the track’s premiere, “Gigi” began trending on Twitter when a leaked still indicated Malik’s girlfriend Gigi Hadid would be in the music video with him. That gave way to the trend “#PillowTalk,” which dominated both in the U.S. and worldwide. So, how are fans feeling about the song and its very-adult lyrics?

@zjmskaterkid was one of the people to point out, “THE FACT THAT ZAYN MADE A VIDEO ABOUT SEX BUT STILL DIDN’T SEXUALLY OBJECTIFY WOMEN MAKES ME HAPPY, HE COMPARED THEM TO FLOWERS.” @emphaticzayn even declared, “Zayn was only 23 when he released #PillowTalk and changed the music industry forever.” And @xistence_ exclaimed, “I DON’T THINK I CAN EXPLAIN HOW MUCH I LOVE HIS VOICE UGH GIFT FROM GOD HIMSELF.”

“Zayn has come back with a banger,” BrooksKyle tweeted. @laurenmahaffy admitted, “I love @onedirection, but I also fully support all of this.” MWorobey also confessed, “I want to hate this (I think…), but I kinda sorta love it. And for that, I will forever be conflicted.”

But the reaction wasn’t all positive, leading to @JB1DNation comment, “People are trying so hard to hate on Zayn just because they still haven’t accepted the fact that he left 1D.” But @A_Very_Goodman argued, “Disappointed by #PillowTalk. It could be Jason Derulo. It could be TheWeeknd. It could be Nick Jonas. Not exactly a distinct sound.”

Malik at least seems very happy with the overall reception. As Gossip Cop reported, he tweeted Friday morning that he was “blown away” by the enthusiastic feedback. Indeed, the video has already racked up more than one million views on YouTube in less than 12 hours.
