An apparent feud between Piers Morgan and Larry King is growing quite venomous.

King, who retired from “Larry King Live” in 2010 and now hosts an online talk show, told Howard Stern on Wednesday that CNN made a “mistake” in picking Morgan as his replacement.

As Gossip Cop reported, Morgan’s show was canceled earlier this year amid bad buzz and dwindling ratings, and King wasn’t all that surprised.

“The best definition of mixed emotions: Your mother-in-law goes over the cliff in your new car,” said King, jokingly comparing the scenarios. “The mix was I thought they made a mistake in the Piers hire. I thought it was a mistake, one, to hire a Britisher [sic] in prime time and, two, I thought that he made himself too much part of the show.”

King said Piers’ series featured “Too much ‘I.'”

“it wasn’t my kind of show. He was nice to me. I went on his show two or three times,” added the veteran journalist. “He wasn’t unfriendly to me. It just wasn’t my type of show.”

Morgan snapped back via Twitter on Thursday, writing, “Hey Larry @kingsthings – you don’t need to KEEP bitching about me. It’s over. Relax.”

“Always tried to be respectful to @kingsthings – but he’s been a constant poisonous twerp towards me for 3 years and I’m bored with it,” the broadcaster went on.

And that wasn’t all.
