Piers Morgan Blasts Hugh Grant As ‘Tedious Little Man’

Do not invite Piers Morgan and Hugh Grant to the same dinner party.

Morgan just slammed Grant on Twitter, and publicly banned him from his show, “Piers Morgan Tonight.”

The CNN host tweeted, “Hugh Grant is now banned, in perpetuity, from @PiersTonight and Life Stories. And anything else I ever do. Tedious little man.”

Morgan, a former editor of the British paper News of the World – which recently paid out Sienna Miller for allegedly hacking into her cell phone - was ticked off by an interview Grant did today with BBC Radio host Richard Bacon.

In the 10-minute long exchange with Bacon, Grant, who himself had his phone hacked, unleashed his distaste for England’s tabloids.

The Love Actually star said, “The tabloid press is completely unnecessary… We don’t need them, we don’t want them, and the sooner they go out of business the better.”

Morgan, who we’re told has a longstanding feud with Grant, apparently took personal umbrage to the actor’s statements, further tweeting, “Listening to Bishop Hugh Grant telling @richardpbacon he wants popular newspapers eradicated. I feel the same about his crap movies.”

    Piers Morgan is an idiot. if Hugh is defending his right to privacy and speaking out against the tabloids who violate laws just to make money. These tabs are getting more and more bold with each passing day, now they aren’t just satisfied with twisting truths or making up complete lies, now they are tapping phones and hacking personal info? and that’s alright with Piers? Class A IDIOT!

    Note to Piers, your show ain’t that great, the ratings have been taking weekly, so it may not be around much longer if that trend continues anyway, so I’d say banning Hugh from anything that you are involved in , is a blessing in disguise. I’m sure he couldn’t be happier with your announcement!

    Piers Morgan said in a recent interview that he’s been reading tabloids since he was seven years old and has “always wanted to be a journalist.” The problem is, when one sucks news at an early age from the teat of shock headlines, one has no idea what real journalism is. Thus, Morgan has a repugnant history as first a reporter for and then the editor of three notorious British tabloids. Morgan calls himself a serious journalist, yet he spent over a decade lying, exaggerating and printing salacious rumors about the rich and famous at The Sun (1989–94), News of the World (1994–95), and the Daily Mirror (1995–04). Without a public acknowledgment—indeed, an apology for deceiving the public—I don’t think he’ll ever be able to wash the stink off himself from being mentored by Rupert Murdoch and Kelvin Mackenzie, both repulsive yellow journalists. Now he’s trotting himself out as a quality but “dangerous” mainstream interviewer when he should be hunkering down to actually learn the ethics and skills of responsible journalists. Shame on CNN for hiring this disreputable and lame excuse for a journalist. It’s a sad day for journalism when Piers Morgan is considered mainstream.

    I agree with Hugh Grant. Hacking into ones phone is terrible. We don’t need tthe tabloids, we don’t want them, and the sooner they go out of business the better! Hugh Grant is a great actor. I love his movies.
    I use to enjoy watching Larry Kings talk show. Now that Larry King has retired, I won’t waste my time.
    The new talk show host is boring.The show sucks!
