Philip Seymour Hoffmans high school English teacher is paying tribute to the Oscar-winning actor in the wake of his tragic death on Sunday.

John Baynes, who taught the star at Fairport High School near Rochester, New York, said in an emotional interview with WHEC, “When I heard the news, I cried. Then I cried some more.”
