Oh my goodness! Very unexpected. They really seem like good, down to earth people. I’m sure the divorce and custody arrangement will be civil.

What took them so long. Marriage nowadays just means something temporary….at least that’s what I learned from stupid reality shows like the Bachelor.

Does anyone fight for their marriage anymore??? Wow! The second of maybe four Hollywood couples that I thought would withstand the test of time. Completely shell shocked! How heartbreaking.

I heard about this a few weeks ago and I refused to believe it. I really loved these two together. You can tell they both really love their girls and that’s all that matters at this point.

I think they have/had a reality show that was supposed to start airing in April on CMT. I heard reports of it late last year, but don’t know if it ever filmed.

Which is why I wonder why they always say it.

There was a movie a few years ago, Patriot Games where Harrison Ford character tells the President, who is about to be skewered for his friendship with a bad guy, don’t deny it. If the press asks if you were good friends say no lifelong friends. Give them no place to go.

I wonder why celebrities don’t do the same? They almost always know when they are about to get hit with the paparazzi tidal wave, why not get ahead of them and give them no place to go. A non-story is not interesting.

This is so sad. They seemed like such an amazing and supportive couple. I hope they remain loving and civil for the sake of their children.

This is sad. However, over the past three months there have been many blind items where this couple was the guess of the majority of commenters. I refused to believe it but I suppose they were right. Rumor has it that Peter found lust on the Twilight set but I don’t know who the “lucky” lady is. It’s really too bad for their kids because they always looked like such a happy family.

You think they didn’t “flaunt” their family? WRONG!!! They did multiple photo ops, Jennie had a column on a blog mag, they were at that “pumpkin patch” thing every halloween, Jennie and the kids were pictured every Thanksgiving “feeding the hungry” and they even did a one episode reality show on CMT. If that’s not “flaunting” I don’t know what is.

Stupid is as stupid does…as your litany of trashy comments so often prove…so it is no surprise that you watch “stupid reality shows”….

This is very sad news to hear. My prayers go out to both Jennie and Peter, that they will always put thier girls first and think of them when deciding their divorce settlement and all that. I heard that they did try to make it work, but it just didn’t. Just because they are getting divorced doesn’t mean they don’t still love each other, and it doesn’t mean they can’t still be a family. God bless them all in this trying and emotional time.

I always loved that quote, but it was from the other movie, Clear and Present Danger (I am a huge dork who is correcting a movie comment on a gossip site, I am aware) LOL but I agree, the more they try to have privacy, the less they seem to get.

Here is something off topic. How do some celebs stay so under the radar and others seem to have paps hunting them down constantly? Or is that the celebs choice? I guess I don’t understand how the whole thing works.

I don’t know how some people are in the press constantly and others live normal lives until they are working on something. My best example of separation of work and life is Kaley Cuoco and Johnny Galecki they were together for a year and half, co-stared on the same show and no one knew about it until they broke up.
