PETA Slams Rihanna & Lady Gaga as Desperate “Freaks” Who Are “Laughed At”

PETA is slamming Rihanna and Lady Gaga as desperate “freaks” for wearing animal products to accentuate their personal style.

The new criticism comes after Rihanna was spotted wearing snakeskin boots in London this week.

“Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive,” declares PETA in a statement, adding, ”Of course, they can’t go on Oprah to cry about it.”

The last part is a dig at Rihanna’s recent emotional appearance with the talk show legend.

PETA continues, “Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch. She and Lady Gaga seem so desperate to be freaks instead of recognized for their talents that you have to wonder if they realize that they are being laughed at.”

Last month, the group went called Gaga a “turncoat” for previously professing to be anti-fur but then wearing it publicly.

The singer then fired back at PETA’s “violent” and “childish” campaigns.

Previously, Kim Kardashian, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and other celebs have come under fire from PETA for wearing animal products.

What do you think about the organization’s new slam on Rihanna and Gaga?

I’m sorry. I cringe when I see “PETA”. They are so hypocritical. They have been caught — Google it — euthanizing animals.

  • Me

PETA saying others are laughed at. Oh the irony

It is not necessary to wear fur or snakeskin for the sake of fashion there are plenty of alternatives. In wearing it they make themselves look stupid.

If you find a good adoption group you feel comfortable with, then you can save some. We always come across a bereft animal at times in our life. Or we know people, or see see signs at the grocery store. When I was more active I used to put up signs for people to call me. I got some beautiful, some sad, all very needy ones that way. I think I have resuced about 500 in the last 7 years. I always wanted to do this. Sent money to shelters etc. But it never eased the ache. I would write little stories about each one. Alice thought it was silly but she liked them. I know that it is the story that the people adopt as much as the dog. It brings back all the dog stories we cried over. If I did that they usually got adopted the first weekend they were shown. I would see people read the story, look at the dog, look back at the story and then adopt the dog. Alice is a dragon when she adopts out. And sneaky in the way she finds out if they are good or not. Very shrewd as I have said. Right now she is at Petco doing it today as always. She never gives up. And she won’t put any of them down. She won’t even abort puppies. they mother is in the bathtub of her beautiful expensive house waiting to deliver. the puppies will be adopted out and the mother spayed and adopted out.

what the hell happened to my previous post what you didn’t like it because what I said was true. there was a time when a fur coat was a status symbol just like a luxury SUV is now a days. Gaga & Britney don’t have the clout to get away with wearing fur when there are alternatives but Melissa Newman & Jemma Redgrave do as they’re relatives of stars who have been in the business since the bad old days when there weren’t alternatives

i don’t like PETA but that ”Go to Oprah to cry” was funny… Rihanna and Lady gaga sucks

As much as I do think Lady Gaga and Rihanna are both attention whores, PETA has no reason to call anyone names. I don’t agree with wearing fur or snakeskin, it’s their choice & trying to publicly humiliate them isn’t going to get them to listen to you. I don’t think PETA realizes they are the ones being laughed at.

  • Monica

I don’t laugh at Lady Gaga, nor Rihanna.
This is why I think the ASPCA is way better than PETA.

    Freaks, yes… talented, no.

We have 5 rescue animals: 2 cats and 3 dogs. One dog was adopted through Petco. She had been rescued from a puppy mill where she spent the first 5 years of her life having puppies, eating, and eliminating all on a dirt floor kennel. She was very shy of humans and she’s coming out of her shell. Her name? Abby!

I don’t wear fur, but I HATE PETA!!!!

  • JJ

    My exact thoughts!

Wasn’t everything put on this earth for something, a purpose. Now does that include animals or what? I mean if animals were never killed and continued to reproduce they would take over the earth!! I was just wondering……

According to the Sun newspaper Rihanna was in a london nightclub dancing on tables when glasses got smashed, security tried to throw her out and she apparently screamed out “don’t you know who I am” lol – What happened to her humility?

  • Bullies

my GOD what a bunch of bullies. taking a snake’s side over a girl who was understandably crying about her relationship with chris brown. snakes aren’t friendly yo. i like animals. i do. but this is getting beyond ridiculous.

I have a jack russell with the exact same history! Her name is HoneyBee. I had her 3 weeks and took her with me to Camp Casey as I couldn’t board her at that time. And she sat on her chair beside me and listened intently to Joan Baez. When Joan got up and left she patted HB on the head. from puppy mill to getting patted by Joan Baez in 3 weeks! She still can’t really jump. I got her to be adopted and when I took her Alice said I would have to work with her first. Now it’s 7 years.

I agree, bought a beautiful mike stole from my former mother in law. – living in Southern California I did not get a lot of use out of it but I enjoyed it very much.

  • Xenobyte

There no reason not to either. To please PETA is not a valid reason.
Making statements like this makes PETA look stupid.

  • Xenobyte

PETA is the worst attention whore of them all. Just look at the way the use nudity and abuse fame to get their message across. And just behind the facade of nude celebs and cuddly animals hides an evil organization hell-bent on world domination, and they don’t care who gets hurt in the process – assault, arson and vandalism are just minor tools in their toolbox.

  • dawg6169

Animals were put on earth so we can eat, and use their hides for clothing and all that jazz. Without the use of animals, we’d all be freakishly thin and pale vegetarians! hahaha

  • Martina

They are freaks! I wanted to go see lady gaga in my country but when i heard she is wearing a meat dress – NO WAY, i would never let my daughter see that! She is pathetic!
