I support the message of animal rights, but throwing a flour bomb on a person undermines that message. There is nothing wrong with writing letters to celebrities, lobbying the legislature for animal protection laws, airing tv commercials, etc. to support your cause. But it’s never okay to attack another human being (can you imagine how scary that would have been for Kim as to whether the white powdery substance was harmful or even lethal?) PETA may not be claiming responsibility, but they are condoning the action and they are simply wrong to do so. Their statement should have read “while we don’t condone the actions of Kim K for wearing fur, we certainly don’t condone the attack made on Kim today”.

I agree with you Rosey. Hate is hate and this was just wrong. I hate it when people wear fur too, but I’m against PETA throwing paint on people. That is dangerous act and they can easily get an innocent bystander. It would be the same if someone had a bad reaction to the paint and ended up in the hospital. PETA IS out of control. I no longer donate or support. They have quite a few ugly skeletons in their own closet and they are NOT, I repeart, NOT as animal friendly as they like people to think. They are responsible for euthanizing thousands of animals in their so-called shelters. Reality check on PETA. It would not surprise me to learn they did this to Kardashian. In years past, they used to throw cow’s blood on the furs of famous people on the streets or on the red carpets. It is NOT okay behavior. PETA does not get to say what you wear, what you eat, etc. While I applaud the overall message of elimination of cruelty to animals, the approaches they often take are terrorist type activities. They are NOT the final arbiters of what is ok and what is not.

To work for them you have to sign a waiver indicating you will not do anything illegal or harmful. Yes they investigate things, they have SOME people who associate themselves with them who do harmless things to bring attention to a good cause. But they do not attack people. And if anyone who is within their group goes against their rules then they are dismissed.For example Liz, perhaps there are 3 women at your company who prostitute herself every night going after married men, shall I associate all the women at your company with them and think you are all prostitutes? PETA brings attention to a cause but does not use violence, the members have to support a waiver that they wont. there are hundreds of animal rights activist, PETA is just well known and blamed for the acts of others, read their website, watch their videos. They advocate for animals just as some advocate for humans, especially children. We need more advocates for the elderly. Many people change their minds after watching the vieos on their website, but they are voicing their opinion which is their right. Just as people have rights to get fat, get tatoos, be unhealthy. Doctors will give you advice but you may not heed his advice, thats your choice. They have a right to bring attention to a cause, I dont think they think they are high and mighty. There are thousands of people who work with them world wide. The actions of other animal activists do not represent PETA’s views always. Each group has its own way of doing things.
