He went on to report that the 64-year-old rocker’s child “is said to be ‘the spitting image of his daddy,’” and sent, “Congratulations to the old man and his wife!”
Because Perez NEVER fact-checks, he fell for this hoax, perpetrated by a hacker on the singer’s website.
Van Morrison’s rep issued a statement on the singer’s behalf, stating: “The comments… did not come from [Morrison]. They are completely and utterly without foundation.”
And Morrison claimed he had never even heard of “GiGi.”
“For the avoidance of all doubt and in the interests of clarity, I am very happily married to Michelle Morrison with whom I have two wonderful children,” he said.
Hopefully, Perez and others like him, who got this story wrong, will have a better 2010!
