The restaurant at the center of the Paula Deen racism scandal has closed.

Uncle Bubba’s Seafood & Oyster House in Savannah, Georgia, owned by Deen’s brother Bubba Hiers, shut down abruptly on Thursday.

The news was announced in a short Facebook message that read, “Thank you for 10 great years. Uncle Bubba’s is now closed.”

Employees had not been previously notified, leading to outrage on social media.

It was during a deposition for a harassment lawsuit filed by former Uncle Bubba’s general manager Lisa Jackson that Deen’s use of the N-word first became known.
