Paula Deen Posts Racist Photo Of Son Bobby In Brownface – SEE PIC
Paula Deen is at the center of another racism controversy after she posted a photo onTwitter on Tuesday of herself dressed as Lucille Ball from “I Love Lucy,” with her son Bobby Deen in “brownface” as Desi Arnaz’s character Ricky Ricardo. She captioned the photo of the two of them in a kitchen, “Lucyyyyyyy! You got a lot of esplainin’ to do!
#TransformationTuesday.” One Twitter user commented, “Paula, *you* have a lot of esplainin’ to do,” in response to her son’s insensitive portrayal of a Latino. See the photo below.
As Gossip Cop reported back in 2013, Deen was sued by a former employee of her restaurant Uncle Bubba’s, who claimed she was subjected to racist remarks from Deen. When the celebrity chef was asked during a deposition if she’s ever used to N-word before, she replied, “Yes, of course.” Deen settled the lawsuit and later apologized for her use of racial slurs in what she claimed to be unrelated incidents.
Deen’s new photo with her son, which she has since deleted, was slammed by many of her followers. “Is that Hispanic version of blackface? LORD… she’ll never learn… f*ckin batsh*t,” wrote one person. Another commenter said, “you do realize that brown face is not ok either right?” And third individual tweeted, “Skin color IS NOT a costume. Blackface, Brownface is RACIST. You remain mired in ignorance.” Dozens of similar sentiments continued to fill Deen’s comment section before she pulled the offending photo down.
