The legendary musician, who is in the U.S. on tour, made the revelations when answering questions at a Television Critics Association session — via satellite in Cincinnati — about his 9/11 documentary, “The Love We Make,” which will air on Showtime next month.
In response to a question about the scandal in the U.K., McCartney acknowledged, “I’ve been hacked,” and noted that when he returns to England, “I’m going to talk to the police.”
“It’s a horrendous violation of privacy,” he said, adding, “I do think it’s been going on for a long time.”
It’s believed McCartney and his then-wife Heather Mills’ voicemails were tapped into by British journalists, trying to get dirt on the couple.
