Patton Oswalt Reacts To Grammy Nomination Like Donald Trump
Patton Oswalt reacted to his Grammy nomination on Tuesday in the style of Donald Trump. While celebrating his nod, the comedian fired off tweets that sounded like ones the president-elect might write.
As Gossip Cop reported, Oswalt was nominated for Best Comedy Album for Talking Over Clapping. He’s competing against David Cross, Margaret Cho, Tig Notaro and Amy Schumer. The star is already an Emmy winner (for his standup special of the same name), and this is his fourth Grammy nomination.
And in response to the big news, Oswalt tweeted, “BEYOND humbled to be nominated with 3 of these other 4 comedians. Look, not all categories are perfect, okay? #blessed.” Oswalt then singled out each of his fellow nominees with false information. “Dear #Grammy voters: The fact that @margaretcho runs a dog fighting ring should not influence your voting,” he wrote.
Oswalt went on, “Dear #Grammy voters: The postings by @amyschumer on the Stormfront website were done by an imposter. Pretty sure of it. I guess.” Next: “Dear #Grammy voters: The 1000s of jpegs of nude children on @davidcrosss’ hard drive were for a UNESCO collage. Give him an honest chance.” And then, “Dear #Grammy voters: Unless you have proof of @TigNotaro’s financing those 3 snuff films it shouldn’t affect your voting.”
Oswalt’s tweets, of course, echo the tone and vein of many messages Trump sent about his rivals during his presidential campaign. Oswalt has been a frequent critic of the mogul, both before and after the election. He won’t find out if his tweeting tactics work and he won the Grammy until February 12.
