Justin Bieber’s Mom Announces Memoir About “Abuse and Addiction”

Truth rating: 10

(Revell)

Justin Bieber’s mom, Pattie Mallette, will spill about her life in a new book.

“Nowhere But Up: The Story of Justin Bieber’s Mom” will be released on September 18, complete with a foreword by Mallette’s superstar son.

The memoir will cover the “trauma, abuse and addiction that marked her early childhood and young adult years,” including Mallette’s suicide attempt at 17.

It also details her pregnancy with Bieber and struggle as a single mom before his fame rocketed.

In a press release, Mallette said she hopes her narrative will serve as a positive message to teen girls and young women facing similar challenges.

“I want them to see that no matter how desperate their circumstances may be, they can have hope for a better future,” explains Mallette.

I hate when star’s parents have to put books out or ride their kids coat tails. Justin is generating enough money and I am sure he is taking care of his parents. Mommy does not need to be famous also.

We don’t like your son, we don’t like you…now go back to Canada eh

Obviously her son’s success is a good way for her to do this, but it’s not all about money. Maybe she’d like to write a book and now she might have a chance to? I think she knows not that many of Justin’s fans will buy her book.

It sounds like she may be doing some good with the book. Sure, she’s using her place as JBs Mom to help her sell them, but she’d be silly not to. Maybe he can help some women that are in the same situations she was.

In my opinion, people who have struggled with addiction should share their story. She is using her sons fame to share a story that is all to familiar to many people. I hope her book can help others. If you have not had any experience with addiction whether it was yourself or someone you knew, then you should not judge until you have first hand experience. Good job Pattie Mallette, and thanks for sharing your story.

I agree. Maybe she’s been wanting to write a book, but never had the connections or ability to do it. It’s not like it’s a tell all about being his mother & what it’s like to travel with him everywhere, it’s about her own past struggles. I’d actually read it, she’s doing some good with this.

I agree with you. It’s not about riding her famous son’s coat tails, perhaps she saw this as a chance to finally get her story out there. I don’t think people realize how hard it is to get a book published.

  • Jennifer

OH, puh…lease. Someone tell this woman it’s not all about her and who cares? Who knows? Maybe all the little Bieber fans will rush out and buy a copy hoping to gleen some secret knowledge of their crush. Lady, you are not the famous one. Get over it.

i don’t get why everyone’s so ignorant, and hating on Justin, or his mom.
read what the book is about then judge…

  • Arcachnar

This is not about Justin himself. This about the past of how his mom tried to survive as a single mom who had to endure addiction and abuse. This is about the real word people. Not in your perfect little world.

The things that she had to deal with could happen to everyone. Yes. It could even happen to you. No one is free from this.
