Patti LaBelle Injures Knee During Dancing With the Stars Rehearsal (VIDEO)
Patti LaBelle injured her knee while rehearsing the salsa with her “Dancing with the Stars” partner Artem Chigvintsev Sunday night. The singer was practicing her dance moves for Monday night’s show when she hurt herself (video below).
“It feels like it’s broken,” LaBelle says in behind-the-scenes video. “I woke up with it this morning killing me,” she adds. Chigvintsev nervously notes that he hopes LaBelle will be able to perform on Monday.
The 12 “Dancing with the Stars” couples will have to dance the salsa, rumba, cha-cha, jive, Argentine tango or foxtrot to their favorite song for “My Jams Monday.” LaBelle picked the song “In Da Club” by rapper 50 Cent because she said it makes her feel “happy.” The singer and Chigvintsev will dance the salsa to the 2003 song.
“You’re loose, you’re in the hood and the hood is one of my favorite places,” LaBelle says in the video. She tells her partner, “I’ll get some hood in ya. Shake it hood!”
As Gossip Cop previously reported, Rumer Willis and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy were the highest-scoring couple during last week’s Season 20 premiere, while LaBelle and Chigvintsev were a little below the middle of the pack. Watch the video below of LaBelle discussing her injury.
