Ethan Hawke and Patricia Arquette Did NOT Fight At Oscars, Despite Report
“There has been tension between them for a long time,” explains a so-called “insider” for the tabloid. “Ethan made some snide comments years ago about her family, and Patricia has never gotten over that. Now he can’t stand that she’s getting so much acclaim and he is kind of an afterthought.”
Huh? Hawke was nominated for an Oscar for the movie. Does Star consider everyone who doesn’t win an Academy Award an “afterthought”? In any case, the magazine claims that he and Arquette “started bickering just before the ceremony started.”
“He didn’t like that she had a better seat than he did. He thought it was disrespectful,” says an alleged “eyewitness” for Star. “It got so heated, they were ushered into a small room that was being used for seat fillers. She told him to just shut up and get over himself.”
Wow, did Arquette and Hawke really have a blowup just minutes before the Oscars? Um, no. A rep for the actor tells Gossip Cop exclusively it’s “100 percent false.” And considering they worked together on Boyhood for 12 years, and how excited he was for Arquette when she won the Oscar, the idea that there’s been some longstanding secret grudge between them all this time that only Star knows about (ha!) is just as ludicrous as it sounds.
