During a taping of “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday, Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris opened up about her life as the daughter of the music legend.

As Gossip Cop was the first to report, Paris replaced Lindsay Lohan, who bailed on her scheduled taping at the last minute.

The 13-year-old, who used to be home-schooled, revealed she was happy to start going to a private school after her father’s passing in 2009.

“When I came to Buckley [School], they didn’t know who I was,” Paris said. “I was like, ‘Yes. I have a chance to be normal.’”

“Normal” usually wasn’t a word associated with the “King of Pop,” who used to have his three children cover up while in public.

“I’m like, ‘This is stupid. Why am I wearing a mask?’” Paris recalled to DeGeneres.

“But I kind of realized the older I got, he only tried to protect us and he’d explain that to us too,” she said.

Paris’ recent decision to star in her first movie, Lundon’s Bridge and the Three Keys, is also tied to her dad as well.

She said when she was “really little,” her family would watch her father in the film Moonwalker.

“I knew he could sing really well but I didn’t know he could act,” Paris explained. “I saw that and I said, ‘Wow, I want to be just like him.’”

Most definitely I will be watching, love Michael Jackson, want to see Paris and interested in what she has to say. Good luck to her in her acting debut.

I find it bizarre that people refer to the Jackson kids’ lives as normal. She’s a 13-year-old about to star in a movie and is doing interviews on the Ellen Show. That is anything but normal.

Don’t get me wrong, I think that it is lovely that she’s now able to lead a more free life with less press scrutiny and in a happy school environment, but I don’t like seeing such young children being thrust into the public eye simply because of who their parents are (the case is the same for the Smith family). It seems unnecessary to me.

She is very cute and has charisma like her dad, however, I don’t mean to sound dramatic but this producer she’s signed up with is very shady. Her brothers are trying to discourage her from making this film. Paris Jackson also met Julian Rouas in August for the Jackson Tribute Perfumes … another sordid venture that went down the toilet. The road to fame is paved with hard knocks and sleazy characters like Julian Rouas and Stephen Sobisky. See the photos …

This chick is so screwed. Looks just like her dad though.

Paris, please live as normal as you can as long as you can. The Jackson family had to have been on this as far as her acting. She is too young to make that kind of decision. She is a minor. If I didn’t want my child to go Hollywood, believe me, she wouldn’t. They are too young to make that kind of decision. I would send her to college, then acting can come later when she would be mature enough to understand and make that kind of decision.

True but it is their choice to do that. Sure, having that name attached to them will automatically launch their career, but it’s not like they’re getting forced into it. She would have started as a little kid if that was the case.

How many young girls tell their parents they want to be a singer / dancer / actress / model every day across the world? There must be millions, but most of their parents know the benefits of letting children be children; they can have careers as adults. Without her name, access to the entertainment industry would be phenomenally more difficult.
