Paris Hilton Never Claimed She Made Kim Kardashian “Famous,” Despite Reports
The controversial music video for Kanye West’s new track, “Famous,” features the rapper and his wife lying naked in bed with several other nude celebrity wax figures. Shortly following the release of the video, a fan created a meme (see below) superimposing Hilton in bed with the couple, along with the caption, “I made his b*tch famous.” The line is a play on West’s lyric about Taylor Swift, about whom he raps, “I made that b*tch famous.” The meme is also in reference to Hilton being widely credited for introducing Kardashian to the public eye.
A doctored image was later released that seemed to indicate that Hilton had “liked” the meme using her official Instagram page. Several outlets, including HollywoodLife and Us Weekly, then inaccurately reported that Hilton had “dissed” Kardashian by approving of the meme, but this simply isn’t the case.
In a new interview with “Extra,” Hilton shot down reports that she “liked” the post. “I actually read all these stories about it today and they said I liked it but I didn’t see that until it was already out,” the socialite explained. In fact, Hilton hasn’t had much of a reaction to the meme either way, saying, “I’ve been so busy that I haven’t even really paid attention.” Check out the meme below, which Hilton most certainly did not “like,” despite reports to the contrary.
