Gossip Cop has confirmed that Paris Hilton will be arraigned on October 27 at 7:30 a.m. before Judge Joe M. Bonaventure.

The Clark County (NV) District Attorney is pursuing a felony drug charge against Hilton.

Paris Hilton has been charged with felony possession of a controlled substance for 0.8 grams of cocaine.

Hilton was arrested late Friday in Las Vegas.

Now the full story of the incident is emerging.

According to the police report, an officer stopped the 2009 Cadillac Escalade carrying Hilton and boyfriend Cy Waits after detecting “the strong smell of marijuana coming from the vehicle.”

As Waits failed a series of field sobriety tests, pedestrians began to recognize Hilton. “Extremely embarrassed,” Hilton asked if an officer would accompany her inside the Wynn Hotel to use the bathroom “to prevent her from being molested by the growing crowd.”

Hilton and the officer entered the hotel’s security holding room and waited for a female officer to take her to the bathroom.

When Hilton opened her purse for lip balm, the officer “saw a small bindle of what I believed to be cocaine in a clear baggy begin to fall from the purse and into my hand.”

After two other cops arrived, they reopened the purse and removed the baggy, reading Hilton her Miranda rights. A subsequent test confirmed that it contained 0.8 grams of cocaine.

Hilton told officers the purse was borrowed from a friend.

In addition to the cocaine, the bag contained a broken tablet of Albuterol; $1,300 in cash; “several cosmetic items”; credit cards; and Zig Zag wrappers, commonly used to roll and smoke marijuana.

When police asked Hilton whose cocaine it was, “she said she had not seen it but now thought it was gum.”

The District Attorney’s office tells Gossip Cop that Possession of Controlled Substance is a felony punishable by a minimum term of one year and a maximum term of four years.

The current charge is probationable, so the court could sentence the socialite to probation rather than prison time.

Hilton could also be fined up to $5,000.
