UPDATE 7:00 PM -

Her rep tells Gossip Cop, “Paris Hilton was questioned today by police in South Africa on allegations of smoking marijuana. However I can confirm that the incident was a complete misunderstanding and it was actually another person in the group who did it.”

“The case has been dropped against Paris and no charges will be made. The authorities have apologized for wrongfully accusing her since she had nothing to do with the incident. Paris is having an incredible time at the World Cup.”

Gossip Cop will monitor any developments.

Paris Hilton was arrested in South Africa, Gossip Cop can confirm.

Police sources in the city of Port Elizabeth say the heiress was found with an unspecified amount of marijuana.

Hilton was initially detained outside the Nelson Mandela Bay stadium right after the Brazil and Netherlands World Cup match.

She’s currently in court.

    They tried to ruin her because you should see what response it got from the media viewers. They were very mean. I always say wait awhile before you accuse anybody because we all are human and make mistakes. It should have been investigated thoroughly 1st.

    Actually since I am a reliable source, LOL, Paris paid the SA police a very nice sum of money.
    Of course it was all a mistake, especially when you have a lot of green to save the day!

    Socialite and hotel heiress Paris Hilton can’t keep herself out of the headlines. We all know what she does best. She is a sheer specialist in terms of being arrested for illegal drugs. This arrest was not for DUI. Evidently she has learned the virtue of a DD or a cab, but not how to not having unlawful substances on her person. She was busted in Las Vegas for having cocaine on her person. Evidently, her two arrests in the last month for weed just weren’t enough for her.
