Pamela Anderson and Rick Salomon are apologizing for their “hurtful” divorce battle, after reaching a settlement earlier this week.

Reps for the former couple say they finalized divorce proceedings on Monday, following more than a month of nasty fighting in the wake of the breakdown of their marriage. As Gossip Cop reported, Anderson and Salomon wed, for the second time, in January 2014. Their tumultuous relationship led Anderson to file for divorce that summer, before the pair reconciled.

They split again, however, earlier this year, leading to disputes about everything from their dogs to their sex life. As Gossip Cop reported, Anderson obtained a restraining order against Salomon last month, after claiming he tried to smother and strangle her while having sex. Meanwhile, he alleged she was a “serial baby killer.” Now both sides are offering apologies.

In a joint statement provided to Gossip Cop, Anderson and Salomon say, “Public divorces can be harsh and cruel – we apologize to our families and friends for any hurt and embarrassment we have caused-we have come to an amicable agreement and are moving on. There are private and personal family sensitivities to consider and we retract any hurtful comments made in haste and distaste. We wish each other and our families well.”

In addition to the statement, Anderson and Salomon also released a photo showing them posing with their dogs. Their divorce settlement reportedly entails Salomon, who had wanted an annulment, paying Anderson just over $1 million.
