Pamela Anderson landed in Israel today to participate in a local version of “Dancing with the Stars,” but while there she hopes to meet with ultra-Orthodox Jewish lawmakers.
Really?
The “Baywatch” babe, who’s an honorary director of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), would like to convince religious leaders to ban the use of fur on hats worn by ultra-Orthodox Hassids on the Sabbath and other festive occasions.
In a letter to Israel’s Minister of Religious Services, Yakov Margi, Anderson wrote, ”Surely you will agree that the ways in which animals suffer and die in the fur trade violates Jewish principles, which strictly prohibit causing unnecessary suffering to animals.”
Anderson intends to meet with religious leaders later in the week.
What do you think of Anderson’s proposed oy-fur?
