Padma Lakshmi Faces Custody Challenge from Baby Daddy

The father of Padma Lakshmi‘s child has launched a legal battle for custody.

Adam Dell filed papers in New York on Tuesday to challenge the “Top Chef” star, with whom he currently has an out-of-court visitation agreement concerning their 11-month-old daughter Krishna.

Dell currently only has seven hours a week of visitation with his daughter, and is fighting to has his name included on the little girl’s birth certificate.

A lawyer for Dell said in a statement: “Adam Dell, above all else, wants to have an active and substantial role in the upbringing of his daughter with Padma Lakshmi. Unfortunately, Ms. Lakshmi has severely limited his time with their daughter and has refused to negotiate a reasonable co-parenting agreement. Mr. Dell has tried his best to avoid going to court, but Ms. Lakshmi has given him no other choice at this time.”
