Pablo Picasso Family: Kanye West’s “The Life Of Pablo” Album Has Our “Blessing”
Kanye West’s The Life Of Pablo album has the blessing of Pablo Picasso’s family, at least according to the late artist’s great-grandson. Watch below.
As Gossip Cop reported, West has changed the title for his seventh studio album several times over the last year. Earlier this week, he told fans it would be called T.L.O.P., later revealing that stood for The Life Of Pablo. West then premiered the record in full on Thursday at a listening party in Madison Square Garden.
While there was much speculation at first over the identity of the “Pablo” in the title, it’s now believed to inspired by Picasso, whom West has spoken highly of in the past. Now the famed painter’s adopted great-grandchild, Florian, is revealing how the family feels about West’s reference. Turns out, the relatives approve.
“I think it’s amazing that he’s paying tribute to his work,” Florian says in an interview with TMZ. He goes on say that both his great-grandfather and the rapper are visionaries who wanted to “revolutionize their game” by “the way they think outside of the box.”
Florian says, “The Picasso family would give the blessing to Kanye… My mom, my siblings, we love Kanye.” He further points out that the Picasso estate teamed up with Jay Z last year, and now would love to do something with West. “Kanye, if you want to come down to the South [of France], we can make some music, you can check out the great house and the museum, and we can talk about music, we can talk about art,” Florian adds.
West has not yet responded to the offer. And as of this posting, his album still isn’t officially out. Early Saturday morning, West blamed this latest delay on collaborator Chance The Rapper. Check out Picasso’s great-grandson talking about the album title below.
