Oscars Presenters List 2016: See Which Stars Are Presenting At Academy Awards!
The biggest stars at Sunday’s 2016 Oscars won’t just be the nominees. Plenty of top celebrities will also be on hand to serve as Academy Awards presenters.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has been revealing the presenters for the 88th annual ceremony over the last few weeks, with some names just announced on Friday. Currently, the full list in alphabetical order is: J.J. Abrams, Patricia Arquette, Abraham Attah, Sacha Baron Cohen, Vice President Joe Biden, Cate Blanchett, Emily Blunt, Chadwick Boseman, Steve Carell, Henry Cavil, Priyanka Chopra, Louis C.K., Common, Russell Crowe, Chris Evans, Tina Fey, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Garner, Whoopi Goldberg, Ryan Gosling, Louis Gossett Jr., Kevin Hart, Quincy Jones, Michael B. Jordan, Lee Byung-hun, John Legend, Jared Leto, Rachel McAdams, Julianne Moore, Olivia Munn, Dev Patel, Eddie Redmayne, Daisy Ridley, Margot Robbie, Liev Schreiber, Jason Segel, Andy Serkis, Sarah Silverman, J.K. Simmons, Charlize Theron, Benicio Del Toro, Jacob Tremblay, Sofia Vergara, Kerry Washington, Olivia Wilde, Pharrell Williams, and Reese Witherspoon.
The group contains a number of past winners, including last year’s best actors and supporting actors. Several current nominees are also taking the stage, such as Blanchett, McAdams, and Redmayne. ABC has also enlisted some of its own talent, namely Vergara, Chopra, and Washington.
Perhaps most notably, the list of presenters is exponentially more diverse than the list of nominees. As Gossip Cop has reported, this is the second year in row that black stars were snubbed and only white actors received acting nominees. That was most certainly a consideration when choosing this year’s presenting partners, and will no doubt be addressed on stage on Sunday. Gossip Cop will have full coverage.
