Oprah Says She’s ‘Not Surprised’ About Rihanna & Chris Brown, Has ‘No Judgment’

Oprah Winfrey says she is “not surprised” by Rihanna and Chris Brown’s apparent reunion, and that she has “no judgment” about the matter.

The TV host, whose “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview with Rihanna back in August included plenty of conversation about Brown, was initially startled when an Extra reporter mentioned the possible revived romance and asked if she was surprised.

“Is she back with him?” asked Winfrey. “I don’t know that that’s true, [but] no, I’m not surprised.”

She explained, “You know what I loved about that interview, is that she came with a big, wide, open heart, and that she was in the space for forgiveness, and that she learned a lesson — that she was repeated with Chris Brown exactly what she needed to learn from her father.”

Oprah added, “I think that if she’s prepared to deal with that, and is prepared to help him help himself… then so be it. I have no judgment about it.”

On Thursday, Brown confirmed that he and Karrueche Tran had split, citing Rihanna as one of the reasons.

He later admitting to “loving” both women in a candid video.

    I like Oprah’s response. She’s right, it’s no one’s place to judge the situation. If they are back together then so be it. Hopefully they both learned from the past and can move forward either together or separately. I am in no place to say she’s dumb or not thinking by spending time with him because I am not her nor was I in their relationship.
    If they can work things out & have a stable relationship then congratulations to them. What the rest of the world thinks doesn’t even matter.

    Normally I would say it’s the couple’s right to get back together if they choose and while that’s true, physical abuse is just not something you get past. There are countless examples of women who went back to their abusers because they were able to find it in their hearts to forgive only to end up abused again. It’s the one thing that can happen in a relationship where a reconciliation is never a good idea and I hope Rihanna’s family and friends are moving in to protect her. I empathize with Rihanna, she obviously has deep feelings for Chris Brown and I can understand her falling into the trap, but that doesn’t change the reality of the situation which is that she can forgive Chris Brown but she should not under any circumstances reconcile with him.

    But this is HER life. She chose to forgive and whatever the outcome, it will be her choice. However, if this should happen to YOU, what you do from that point will be YOUR choice. This is how it works. Money and a functioning brain has nothing to do with it. Know that song by Frank Sinatra? I did it my way? She is doing it her way because that is all that matters in the final analysis.

    You are so right! it’s such a pity that so many girls worship her, ’cause she’s no model to follow as a woman. Oh, but these girls are as brainless and disrespectful of themselves as she is of herself. These are the ones I will never pity for being punching bags for their cowardly, abusive partners.

    Yuh know, I really have a lil difficulty wid this role model thing……..why is it that parents/ people are so quick to label these celebs role models, what is wrong with parents being their childrens’ role models, no wonder the world is so fucked up and miserable, why should Rihanna or anyother celeb for that matter have to decide how to live thier lives because some ones daughter is looking up to her, while the mother of that child bout the place living her life how she pleases, this role model shit is nonsence………do right by your children and whether Rihanna and Chris Browne gets back together will not be an issue…………..
