On the day Oprah Winfrey premiered the new trailer for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on her program, word arrived of an even bigger vampire invasion next month.

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner, and Dakota Fanning are all scheduled to appear on “Oprah” on May 13 to promote Eclipse.

Pattinson, Stewart, and Lautner appeared together on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” back in November for New Moon.

Gossip Cop will report on more promotional events for Eclipse as the June 30 release nears.

The Eclipse trailer looks really good. It pretty much exceeded my expectations.

I liked the choice of a Carmina Burana O Fortuna-esque trailer soundtrack. It was epic. I usually like the opposite approach in a soundtrack – as in, quiet haunting lyrics for major action because it’s more tense and haunting that way. Not this time.

Good teaser editing. It was tight and just exposing enough to drive interest without giving the goods away… Like a Gypsy Rose Lee striptease. The romance was played down in the trailer and the action was featured. I think Twigirl fans will have an easy time bringing their boy squeezes to this on date night. I know I will.

Judging from the trailer and what I predict to be an increase in Twi-demographic – Slade was a perfect choice to bridge the third installment. It somewhat reminds me of a high production value Dog Soldiers (one of my faves). Squee.

Hmmmmm…let’s see how we make Eclipse as corny as possible: we can have the main charcters look like the Power Rangers, we can have everyone talk like they’re impersonating William Shatner, Edward can look as ugly as possible, we can have Jasper’s hair look like it could be alive, BDH can look like our pet ferret and not at all evil (miss you Rachelle), we can have major scenes with Riley and Victoria who only had three pages in the book, and oh yes we can have a zombie oriented story line! Yeah! That’s definitely what I read in my copy of Eclipse!

I will always love Rob and Kristen and follow their work for as long as they choose to do movies but I’m done with the Twi saga. It’s obvious scummit will never do the story the Twi fans fell in love with in the books. I know I’m in the minority here but I’m tired of the studio making movies that don’t follow the books and expecting me to pay them for screwing it up.

kinda sucks that some characters get more on screen then others .But seeing Riley turn needs some explaining.
I just hate it when some more important book dialougue gets the cut like, oh i don`t know meadows scenes being butchered and key Bella and Edward book stuff that is important like when Edward, is very angry about Bella
being so eager for death.I shudder to think how Breaking Dawn will be ruined. I will watch the saga remaining films
just so i can get my twi-fix.

Did you get a sense of what would and wouldn’t be in the movie from the limited trailers? wow. I’m not sure what will or won’t appear (I hear Summit is still working on it too – hee).

Yeah, I don’t understand this Riley character beefing either. He dies and is burned during the Victoria fight in the mountains. That’s when he’s introduced in the book too – during the mountain fight. Hmm.. Maybe they’ll use him earlier for the Bella scene where she gets her scent stolen from her room – or, maybe they needed him to tell the Seattle newborn vampire story to add a sympathy dimension and make Victoria appear more cruel. Maybe his agent slept with someone. I dunno.

Personally, some of my favorite book moments were the scenes between Edward and Jacob about Bella. The jealousy moments: When they had a Bella scent marking war, vying for her time alone, Jacob’s sleeping bag thoughts in the tent that Edward could hear etc etc… I hope those all make it into the movie.
